Kokopelli Painting – “Kokopelli Jam”

Kokopelli Jam
Original size: 9 x 12 inches
Original medium: Oil Pastel on board: ©2005

I created this painting a few years ago. It was a gift to a very dear friend of mine. I was inspired by the native Hopi Kokopelli figure. The Kokopelli represents fertility and the ushering in of spring. It is said that the Kokopelli carries unborn children on his back and distributes them to women. 🙂 The Kokopelli also represents the spirit of music and the laughter that opens us up and frees us from rigid preconception. In this painting I decided to convey different Kokopelli figures, colorfully coming together and sharing their spirit and joy.

If you like this painting you can buy a print for $14.86 by clicking here.
